It can challenge you in ways that feel motivating rather than all-consuming. It can expand your story rather than shrink your world.
These next few years are full of possibilities.
Law School Lately is here to help you make the most of it.
“I realized after working with Shannon that I had been thinking about law school the wrong way before. Once I learned the law school ‘game’ and adjusted my mindset for that, it was a whole new experience.”

“Shannon was there to answer everything. By the end of the semester, I ended up with grades that got me interviews at firms I thought were completely out of reach.”

I understand the law school pressure because I lived it firsthand. When I started my JD/MBA program at Georgetown in 2020, I felt prepared – strong undergraduate performance, acceptance to top programs, solid work experience in DC legal roles. Plus, I’d balanced the demands of college athletics with academics, developing strong organizational and time management skills that I trusted would serve me well in this new challenge.
However, my first semester was a humbling ordeal. The traditional ways of learning and studying – the ones that had always worked for me – weren't cutting it. I was barely keeping my head above water, struggling through assignments, readings, and exams, wondering if I'd made a terrible mistake. Even though catching up felt impossible, something had to change. Not just for my grades, but for my own sense of what I was capable of achieving.
That desperation forced me to implement fundamental practices that actually made a difference. What saved me became my system. I went from endless studying with poor grades to focused, quality effort that led to exponentially better results. As I turned things around, people started reaching out – friends, acquaintances, even strangers wanting advice on law school success strategies.
These days, I work as an associate doing corporate law at a major NYC firm. And outside of that, I get to help students navigate their sticky points. Maybe it's the eldest daughter in me – there's something rewarding about sharing what I learned and hopefully making someone else's experience a little easier. And a lot more enjoyable.
